As a double Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, one of the most critical components of my job is listening. When you come in for a consultation, I want to hear everything — What are you looking to achieve aesthetically? Does anything scare you about a given procedure? Do you live a lifestyle that can support surgery? Not only am I gathering the necessary information to create the best treatment plan for delivering on your desired outcome, but I also want to know what my chosen vocation could be doing better. Is there something that patients desire that they aren’t getting? And, if so, how do we, as plastic surgeons, improve the situation? Asking and answering the hard questions is one of the things that I like most about my job. It is what creates an atmosphere of change and evolution. Plastic surgeons are always looking for better ways to achieve a safe, excellent result with as little downtime as possible. The latter is a universal patient desire that crosses over all aesthetic procedures, and an area where technology is proving to be a real game-changer. Here is how technology is radically changing rhinoplasty for the better.

Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty in Boston

A rhinoplasty or nose job is one of the foundations of my practice. As I am Board-Certified in facial plastic surgery, and head and neck surgery, rhinoplasty meets at the crossroads of my two specialties. It requires:

  • Intense technical know-how
  • Years of experience
  • Excellent artistic eye

I am proud to offer my Boston area patients the full range of nose job options, including:

  • Ethnic Rhinoplasty
  • Female Rhinoplasty
  • Male Rhinoplasty
  • Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty

The latter is one of those innovations that is completely changing the nose job landscape for the better, as it allows me to precisely re-sculpt your nose with less bruising, swelling, and subsequent downtime for recovery.

What Makes Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty Better?

In an Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty, I use a piezoelectric device, which is basically ultrasonic saws and burrs, to cut the necessary bones in your nose while still sparing the soft tissue. Not only does this allow me to achieve more precise contouring in order to reshape your individual nose into its ideal shape, but I can do so with less post-op swelling and bruising. Since one of the biggest deterrents for patients when it comes to deciding whether or not to get a rhinoplasty has been the recovery, less swelling, in particular, is associated with less discomfort and a faster road to being out and about again. Furthermore, this preservation of the soft tissue approach means that we are keeping more of your native support. This can result in a more natural-looking profile in addition to the potentially smoother recovery. These are all big bonuses for patients.

Benefits of Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty

There are innumerable benefits of the Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty. They include:

  • More natural-looking result
  • Long-lasting facial rejuvenation
  • Less post-op bruising & swelling
  • Faster return to normal routine
  • Better skin quality around surgical result

While less downtime is one of the things that patients like most about this rhinoplasty option, another important consideration is cost. In my practice, I have found the results from the Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty to be long-lasting. So, while the initial procedure can be expensive, it is important to amortize this cost over the many years in which you will enjoy your new nose.
