The treatment involves using high-intensity light beams to remove skin layers with precision. This process stimulates the production of collagen, which gives skin its youthful elasticity and firmness. It is beneficial for skin tightening and enhances skin tone, texture, and overall radiance.

Cutera Excel V™

Whether you have rosacea, sun-damaged skin, spider veins, leg veins, port wine stains, or cherry angiomas, the Cutera Excel V™ can be used to dramatically improve the appearance of a variety of vascular skin conditions – both severe and superficial. At Boston Center for Plastic Surgery, we also utilize this advanced, high-powered laser to treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, veins, and skin discolorations, including a variety of pigmented spots.

How Excel V™ works

Excel V™ uses a unique cooling technology that allows for intense treatments without the pain of traditional laser systems. The laser will be targeted at the areas of skin designated for rejuvenation, where it will work to provide the skin with a healthier, more even tone. While some clients are satisfied after just one treatment, in most cases, two or more treatments are needed to achieve the desired results. In all cases, patients experience few, if any, side effects—the most common being a slight reddening and swelling of the skin that quickly subsides.

Pearl Laser Peel

The Pearl Laser Peel offers a more aggressive treatment that addresses wrinkles and uneven texture while minimizing the recovery time experienced with ablative technologies. Leonard Miller, MD, our board-certified plastic surgeon, administers the Pearl laser peel, which features a 2790 nm wavelength.

Designed to improve the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation, this innovative laser resurfacing treatment superficially removes layers of damaged skin to bring out healthier layers from underneath the surface.

During treatment, Dr. Miller will direct laser energy onto each targeted area of skin to produce a controlled thermal injury.

This helps improve both skin texture and laxity while also working to reduce signs of pigmentation and fine lines.

What to expect after Pearl Laser Peel?

Following the procedure, a natural protective layer develops over the targeted treatment area, often allowing for rapid healing and a downtime period of just three to five days. Optimal skin rejuvenation results from the Pearl laser peel can typically be achieved after one to two treatment sessions.

Pearl Fractional Laser

The Pearl Fractional laser skin rejuvenation system is the latest exciting treatment to treat signs of photodamage aggressively yet safely, as well as a host of other dermal imperfections. Deep lines, pigmentation, acne scarring, and skin laxity can all be dramatically improved in one session with a downtime of just five to seven days. This laser technique, available from Dr. Leonard Miller at Boston Center for Plastic Surgery, offers precise and accurate treatment of targeted areas with impeccable control for a more comfortable procedure.

How Pearl Fractional Laser works

Pearl Fractional Laser Resurfacing penetrates the deep dermis, producing a series of microcolumns across the skin, vaporizing and removing damaged tissue. Simultaneously, it heats and coagulates neighboring tissue, reducing operative bleeding. Immediately post-treatment, dermal tissue begins to repair itself. Over time, stimulation initiated by the combination of ablation and thermal coagulation leads to the production of new collagen, resulting in volumetric improvement to reduce the effects of photodamage.

Pearl Fractional Laser recovery

Patients typically only require a single treatment to significantly improve photodamage and dermal imperfections. Recovery is fast, usually two to four days post-treatment, and most skin redness gradually subsides in five to seven days. Patient downtime is usually limited to one week.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

With Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, Dr. Leonard Miller and his experienced skin rejuvenation team can harness the power of light to provide you with effective, non-surgical skin renewal.

Our IPL procedures, including the advanced Limelight Facial™ treatment, can improve areas of skin affected by wrinkles, discoloration, redness, visible veins and blood vessels, and other conditions.

How Intense Pulse Light (IPL) works

IPL emits light wavelengths over areas of skin you would like to enhance. These intense beams of light help to reduce damage and improve skin tone within the areas targeted for treatment. IPL technologies used by our Boston practice offer three wavelength modalities and can precisely treat areas of the skin affected by diffusing:

  • Redness
  • Dyschromia (pigmentation problems)
  • Telangiectasia (facial veins)
  • Rosacea

IPL treatments can be performed on multiple areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands–without gels or anesthetics. Treatments usually last 10 to 30 minutes or more, depending on your specific needs.

Clear + Brilliant®

Dr. Leonard Miller offers the innovative Clear + Brilliant® laser skin rejuvenation to help patients reduce the signs of aging and achieve smoother, more youthful-looking skin. With fractional laser technology, this non-invasive method of skin resurfacing targets the earliest signs of aging from the inside out and can help prevent visible signs from appearing in the future.

Some notable benefits and advantages of the Clear + Brilliant® laser treatment include:

  • Helps to reverse and prevent noticeable signs of aging
  • Reduces the appearance of enlarged pores
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Works to produce an illuminated, natural-looking radiance for the skin
  • Only minimal downtime is typically required following treatment
  • It can be beneficial for all ages and skin types

How Clear + Brilliant Works

Clear + Brilliant® benefits patients of any age and skin type. The procedure typically takes 20-30 minutes, depending on your individual needs and goals. During treatment, the Clear + Brilliant® handpiece will be guided over your skin as laser energy is applied to targeted areas. The laser energy gently penetrates the top layers of your skin to eliminate damaged cells and stimulate natural collagen production for the development of healthy skin tissues. This stimulation of collagen should continue over time, often producing long-lasting results. Any redness or swelling that may occur should dissipate quickly, and only a minimal amount of downtime is generally associated with this procedure. For the most effective results, Dr. Miller typically recommends a series of treatments based on your unique skin care needs.

Laser Genesis

Experience the rejuvenating power of Laser Genesis, a non-invasive laser treatment designed to address a plethora of skin concerns. From smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles to minimizing large pores and reducing the visibility of scars, Laser Genesis works wonders in creating a radiant, even-textured, and youthful-looking complexion. Its gentle yet effective approach allows for full-face and neck treatments without requiring any numbing or causing side effects.

How Laser Genesis works

The process of Laser Genesis involves the careful movement of the handpiece across the skin’s surface, emitting gentle heat into the upper dermis layer. This heat stimulates collagen production, dilates capillaries, and addresses various skin issues.

A series of four to six treatments is recommended for optimal results. Patients can resume their regular activities immediately after each session because there are no side effects such as bruising or skin irritation. Applying an SPF product is advised if outdoor activities are planned post-treatment.
