Complex Implant Exchange: Rupture Repair, Downsizing & Mastopexy
This patient in her 60s sought help to address long-standing issues from 600 cc silicone implants placed by a previous surgeon. She was dealing with painful capsular contracture, a rupture, and a heavy, unnatural shape caused by oversized implants pulling her tissue downward.
Her revision focused on a full implant exchange and tissue restoration. After removing the damaged implants and scarred capsule tissue, we downsized her to 360 cc silicone implants. To ensure proper positioning and long-term support for her new, smaller profile, a mastopexy (breast lift) with an internal bra support matrix was performed.
Pictured over one year post-surgery, she is pain-free and loves her lighter, more natural feel. Her scars have faded beautifully, demonstrating how a tailored exchange procedure can resolve implant complications while restoring natural proportions.
