Revision Breast Augmentation for Implant Malposition and Animation Deformity
Four years after a subpectoral augmentation elsewhere with 250cc implants, this 29-year-old came to Dr. Tandon with implants that had migrated toward her armpit, dropped too low, and caused animation deformity and poor cleavage—classic signs of an under-repaired pocket in the subpectoral plane.
Dr. Tandon corrected this by removing both implants, performing a subtotal capsulectomy, repairing the pectoralis major, and converting to a prepectoral (subfascial) plane so the implants no longer move with the muscle. He placed 375cc Motiva SmoothSilk RSF implants with DuraSorb mesh for lower-pole support during healing.
At two months, her implants are centered and symmetric, her cleavage is restored, and the animation deformity is completely resolved.
